Our New Domain Name

Dawn's Work at Home Blog is going to be 5 years old this year! This is something that I should have done before and have been thinking about doing for quite some time but I think that I was just too comfortable with the way it was.

I decided that today is the day that I would get it's own domain name.  We are now www.dawnsworkathome.com but if you forget, dawnsworkathome.blogspot.com will be redirected to the new domain.  No worries! This may take up to a couple days for the settings and everything to be completed.  If you see an error when going to the new domain, it will be fixed shortly.  Should be smooth by tonight, it has been in the past with my other blogs that have their own domain names.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Congrats on having a .com domain Dawn. So the next step would be moving to self hosting ? :)

  2. Hi Peter,

Thank you! I have a couple of blogs with their own domains but I took a long time getting this one it's own domain. It was my first blog and I am not sure why it took me so long.
I had thought about self hosting but I have also been quite happy with blogger throughout my time of having the blogs here. I will have to see!
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

  3. Wonderful!

I also have a blogger/blogspot blog and I have been contemplating this particular type of change myself. Blogger has been a great way to help me get on my feed with my work at home blog but I suppose jumping to a "real" domain is one of those big life leaps. I'm glad to hear that you're on that bandwagon now and I'll certainly be checking back to see how that goes with you and if it helps you grow in your followers. :)

  4. Hi Pamela,

Blogger is a great hosting platform! I have a couple of blogs on their own domain (hosted by Blogger), but they started out on their own domain. This is my first blog I started in 2007 and I think I just got comfortable with the way it was. I am glad I did purchase the domain and I know that I will be able to grow even more now. The only thing is that Google Friend connect is not configured correctly now with the new domain so I will need advice on fixing that!
Hope you have a wonderful day!
